I will wear soft tattered sweatshirts and not worry about my wrinkles and white hair. I will spend money on my dog and a small garden. I will sit in my tiny home on my favorite chair and give my dog belly rubs and snuggles. I will care for them from fetch, food and call their name in a loving way.
I will sneak out in the wee hours of a warm summer morning and take my dog for a walk. When I meet people out and about,
I will smile as I show off my dog, with honorary mention of the ones so beloved from my past.
I am mindful that not everyone has found the peace in being free to have a dog as their best friend. One who always waits, ready for an adventure at any moment, eagerly ready to jump to their feet out of a sound sleep, to greet you with eyes full of love and hope for you!
This is the person I am and have always been. Loving a dog is easy, they are a part of my soul.
My dog accepts me just how I am. My dog appreciates my presence.
Hopefully you will understand when you are old, and fortunate to have a dog love you too! I am getting old...
